The Thermomix TM6 was launched in 2019 and will continue to be supported by Vorwerk for many years to come, however now that the TM7 is here with its sleek design, Thermomix owners across the world are asking one question - is the TM7 worth the upgrade? In my opinion, the answer is yes!

What’s New?

The TM7 has been completely remodelled with greater performance and better connectivity. Here’s what’s new:

New 10 inch screen: The display has a new bright touchscreen 10 inch display compared to previous models small panel display.

Larger Varoma: The redesigned Varoma steamer which comes as standard attachment offers 45% more volume compared to previous models, making family sized meals much easier to prepare.

New exterior thermal cover: The TM7 bowl is placed inside a removable thermal protective exterior making it cool to the touch, an upgrade making it safer for children to use and those who need two hands to lift.

Open cooking: The new open cooking function allows you to operate the TM7 without the lid, making it ideal for recipes that require stirring, tasting or adding ingredients along the way.

Smartphone Connectivity: Recipes can now be sent directly from your phone to the TM7 and receive notifications when your food is ready.

Quieter motor: The TM7 runs much quieter at roughly 50 dB at full speed.

What’s the Same?

  • The bowl capacity size stays the same at 2.2 litres.
  • The integrated scales still measure up to 3kg The Thermomix sensor, blade cover & Peeler will work in the TM6 & TM7

What About the TM6?

Vorwerk have committed to software updates for another 10 years for TM6 owners. So if you are happy you will still have all the support you need. Although the TM6 is no longer available to buy, some accessories are still for sale.

Verdict-

If you are a person who likes to use apps with the latest connectivity, other family members also cook or want to cook, you would prefer a more modern streamlined sleek looking appliance, then the TM7 is for you.

If you rarely use Cookidoo and are only cooking for 1 or 2 people then your TM6 will serve you well for many years to come.
